I was horrified that anyone would leave a baby out in the street to die. The parent could have given the child to an orphanage or could have brought the baby to any on-duty employee of a fire station, health department, or medical department, under the Newborn Infant Protection Act. I feel that the police and detectives are doing the right thing by questioning social service workers and hospital officials for information about recent pregnancies in hopes of finding this baby’s mother. The mother should be ashamed of herself for throwing her child’s life away.
