DNA Analysis Bound to Solve a Rape Crime
Jason Yuan

The innocent can no longer be wrongly accused for rape cases due to new advances in DNA testing. On March 14, a North Carolina Central University student working as an exotic dancer reported to Durham police that she was raped by three men who restrained and choked her in a bathroom. Among the accused were several of the highly ranked lacrosse team members of Duke University. No one has been charged yet but many were accused. However, the state crime lab is expected to complete its analysis of DNA samples taken from 46 of the lacrosse teams 47 players this week. The whole case now relies on these samples. These DNA samples will be important in proving their innocence. Unlike decades before, DNA testing is now available and the suspects should be identified after the analyses are completed.
