The Forensic Computer Scientist
Alan Zhao
Dr. John Leeson is an associate professor at the school of computer science at the University of Central Florida, in Orlando. The FBI calls him a pioneer in the field of computer crimes and investigations. He explains what to do to catch suspects that use the internet to commit crimes. One example is, if a person were to make bombs, the police can confiscate his computer and look at what sites he has been on. If the individual has visited a bomb-making site, it could aid in his/her conviction. He said that the key is to find the digital trail of evidence, which disappears quickly. As for hackers that use the computer directly to cause damage, the police must find passwords and encryption programs that they have used to hide everything they do.
