DNA Can Be Found Everywhere

Lelei Cheng

A new study indicates that individuals leave DNA everywhere. DNA can be traced back to an individual on simple objects such as pens, telephones, mugs and keys. This will help forensic scientists gather more evidence in order to solve more crimes. The procedure has already helped in cases such as murder, rape, armed robbery, extortion and drug trafficking. There is however, one flaw. One can pick up another individuals' DNA on the hand. Therefore, one individual may leave another individual's DNA at a crime scene. Such an event could result in misleading evidence. Fortunately though, scientists have stated that the quantity of DNA that transfers from one person to another is minimal. As the amount is so small, it probably wouldn't be detected. Still, more experiments must be done to answer some of the uncertainties.
