Handwriting Analysis

Maggie Sat

Handwriting is one way to identify individuals. Document experts will say and will continue to testify that no two individuals will write exactly the same. That does not mean that there cannot be similarities between the two individual's handwritings but there are many factors that comprise the total character of a person's writing. There are two distinct general styles that people write in, the Palmer, introduced in 1880, and the Zaner-blosser, introduced in 1895. Differences in angularity, slope, speed, pressure, letter and word spacing, relative dimensions of letters, connections, pen movement, writing skill, and finger dexterity are some examples that would factor into one's handwriting.
