Forensic Entomology Helps Send Poachers to Jail
Lelei Cheng
Forensic entomology is the study of insects and their arthropod counterparts in their interaction with legal matters. Insects can give evidence to an investigator that may be very substantial. Forensic entomology has already helped solve many murder cases. Now, this study can even be used to save our wildlife. This area of forensics has started to link suspected poachers to the scene of the crime. Illegal hunting has always been a problem that was difficult to solve. However, now forensic entomology can link an individual to the deceased animal. With entomological evidence, poachers have been sent to jail. Hopefully, these advancements will discourage poachers to continue their crimes.
