This organization offers $1000 annual scholarship to students seeking a career in forensic science.  Applications will be reviewed and recipients chosen by the scholarship committee prior to the annual AFTE Training Conference. Scholarships granted will be for the school year beginning on or about the following September

 

- FBI Common Knowledge Scholarship Deadline- Varies Reward-Up to $1000:

C.W. Post Forensic Scholarships are available to entering freshmen or transfer students who desire to major in Forensic Science full-time at the undergraduate level. Minimal qualifications include a “B” average (3.0 out of a 4.0 G.P.A.) in all previous schoolwork and an SAT composite of at least 1000 (old SAT) or 1500 (new SAT) for new freshmen. Transfers must have 3.0 minimum cumulative G.P.A. International students must submit a minimal TOEFL score of 525. All scholarship recipients must apply and be admitted as full-time matriculated undergraduate Forensic Science students for the 2006-2007 academic year at C.W. Post.

 

- Grace M. Walsh Forensic Scholarships:

AVAILABLE:  ANNUALLY

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

This offer is for outstanding forensic students. Sixty percent of the annual scholarship funds are to be awarded to incoming students and forty percent of the scholarship funds are to be awarded to returning students who meet eligibility requirements.

            - Ellis R. Kerley Forensic Sciences Foundation Scholarships

Papers or posters will be selected from among the abstracts submitted.  At the annual American Academy of Forensic Sciences meeting, the selected papers/posters will be presented during the Ellis R. Kerley Award Program.  The paper or research which best demonstrates the excellence in pursuit of developments in the field of forensic anthropology personified by the late Ellis R. Kerley will receive the Ellis R. Kerley Award.  The award will be granted for the paper or poster which best demonstrates originality, creativity, depth of research, innovation, new methodologies, research design, significance to the field, and/or potential impact on the practices of forensic anthropology.

            - Emily R. Murphy Scholarship in Forensic Science

            - The UNI Forensic Program

This program offers several scholarships.  The most frequently received of these scholarships are the general program awards.  These general program scholarships are usually partial tuition awards, but some students who are exceptionally committed to the program may receive full tuition awards.  Some specialized awards, such as the Bartlett Freeland Debate Awards, the Ebel, and the Koh, are also available.  The scholarship brochure from the Office of Financial Aid provides more details about these specialized awards.  The scholarships are open to freshmen, transfer students, and current students of UNI.  Students are selcted to receive forensic scholarships based on their level of commitment to the program, their competitive contributions, and their academic standing.

 

-         UNO/UNL Criminal Justice Education Fund The Criminal Justice Education Fund is to provide scholarship or research assistance,

            fellowships or grants to undergraduate or graduate students majoring

            in criminal justice. The amount awarded varies from year to year.
            Applicants must submit a transcript and a letter outlining career
            goals and the use to which the monies will be applied. Interested
            persons should contact their advisor for further information.
           Applications should be submitted to: Criminal Justice Fund Advisory
           Board, Department of Criminal Justice, Durham Science Center 208,
           University of Nebraska-0maha, Omaha, NE 68182. Deadline for
           application is March 15.

 

-         DONALD J. WEISENHORN CRIMINAL JUSTICE SCHOLARSHIP

            Amount varies; Recipient must be a full-time undergraduate or graduate

           student, majoring in Criminal Justice, and be sophomore or above.
           GPA requirement 3.0. Applications must be received by Feb 14.

            issuing a minimum of one scholarship per academic year to a qualified

            graduate level student who is enrolled in an educational program leading

            to a graduate degree in physical anthropology or forensic anthropology.

      fund to bring it to endowment — ensuring that the Emily R. Murphy

     -  Trent University- There are no scholarships that are specific to Forensic Science.

      However, students with incoming averages of 80% or better will

    -  Justice Scholarship Program- This scholarship will support ten matriculated

       undergraduate students of John Jay College who exemplify perseverance and

       dedication in pursuing a public service career.  The scholarship is to be

       applied to educational expenses and to support undergraduate research.  Five

       scholarships will be offered to each incoming class and five scholarships will

       be offered to currently enrolled students who have completed 30 credits.

       Establishment of a scholarship of $2000 is to be awarded in two installments.

       The first installment prior to the beginning of the fall semester and the second

       installment at the end of the spring semester.

Criteria:

1.      Entering Freshman

The minimum qualifications for this program include a secondary school rank in the top 10 percent, a combination SAT I score of at least 1140 or a score of 90 on the NYS English and Math A Regents.

2.      Maintain an overall 3.5 grade point average

            The UNI Forensic Program is able to offer several scholarships.  The most frequently
