We hope you can join us on our 6th Annual Hackathon, AtomHacks, on May 16th from 9am-8pm! During this event, express your creativity, collaborate with others, and learn new ideas from your peers as you create your own projects! We are so excited to see what you all can create, so sign up using the AtomHacks Website, where you can find more details and the registration form.

What is a hackathon?
AtomHacks is a 12-hour event where students either work in groups or by themselves in order to create coding projects that will be evaluated by judges in an optional contest. This is one of the best opportunities at Bronx Science to work with your friends in an enriching coding environment as you learn the foundational skills of collaboration and teamwork with others.

What if I have never programmed before?
You can still participate in this event, regardless of your coding experience! A hackathon is not solely a contest, but it is one of the best experiences to start programming. Various workshops will be held with mentors from other companies so that you can learn the true passion in coding. Many students are intimidated to try coding for the first time, either because it seems complicated or they do not know where to start. Our workshops will give you the foundational tools that you need so that you can further explore the power of programming!

What will be offered during the hackathon?
As always, we will have merch, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and prizes available for those that win in the contest! Our hackathon is supported by the Alumni Foundation and various sponsors in order to provide you the best experience. Computers will also be available at the library, but we recommend that you bring your own laptop for convenience.

Questions?
Email info@atomhacks.org if you have any questions.

Make sure to sign up by May 1st using the AtomHacks Website, where you can find more details and the registration form. We cannot wait to see what you will create and learn!
